It’s all about finding your chill and your thrill!

This stunning 1-hour walk has panoramic views of Mistletoe and Waterfall Bay. Nature’s beauty will be showing off!

James Vogel Track
Tucked away at the far-right corner of the lower campground, this 45-minute forest loop is perfect for stretching your legs and soaking in the sounds of the wild. A little forest magic awaits you!

Onahau Point Lookout
Feeling adventurous? Follow the James Vogel Track and the Queen Charlotte Track signs to Ships Cove, then up to Onahau Point Lookout. The views of Queen Charlotte and Kenepuru Sounds are next level—totally worth the climb!

Kayaking & Paddle Boarding
Paddle your way around Onahau Bay, where the sheltered waters make for a fun and relaxing experience. Sit-on-top kayaks or stand-up paddleboards—take your pick and enjoy the spectacular surroundings.

Glow Worms, Phosphorescence & Kiwis
As night falls, the magic begins! Stroll down the driveway to see hundreds of glow worms twinkling in the dark. For a little wow factor, head to the wharf and watch phosphorescence light up the water beneath your touch—it’s nature’s very own light show and a retreat highlight! And if you are lucky, you might just hear the call of a Kiwi echoing through the night—pure magic!

The waterfront is bursting with treasures—spot crabs, cockles, mussels, vibrant starfish, and stunning sea beds. Keep your eyes peeled for Weka, Tui, Bellbirds, Kingfishers, Fantails, and more as they serenade you with their songs. Out in the bay? Dolphins, seals, blue penguins, and even orca have been known to swing by for a surprise visit!
